Perfect for when you are craving a fresh pizza that can be made in minutes!
I was doing some recipe research on how to make a pizza at home and came across recipes that were super simple to bring together at speed and most importantly taste awesome! This pizza recipe uses an interesting ingredient, yoghurt. Don’t turn your nose up too quickly, believe me it’s what you need to create a lovely pizza in a cinch. No need to rest the dough, no need to knead the dough or develop the glutens or any of that business. There aren’t exact measurements for the sauce, cheese, etc, this is so that you can judge for yourself. Who measures cheese anyway, the more the better right!?
I promise you, just make this once and you will make it again.
- 210g self raising flour
- 230g greek yoghurt
- Pizza base sauce
- Mozzarella cheese
- Olive oil
- Preheat your oven to 200°/400°F/Gas Mark 6. To make the base all you need to do is add the flour to a mixing bowl with a sprinkling of oregano (perfectly fine to leave it out). Next add the yoghurt and mix well.
2. Once the pizza base dough has come together, you want to tip it out onto a lightly floured surface and using your hands, lightly press out the dough into an even circle. You don’t need to knead it or rest it, becareful with this part as you will feel how soft the dough is. Next, lift it onto your lightly oiled pizza baking tray or any flat oven tray. It doesn’t need to be perfect, we are hangry for pizza and we need it fast!! Pop the base in the oven for about 5 -10 minutes, you only want to cook the base enough so that it provides a firm surface for your sauce.
3. Pull your pizza base out the oven and slather on your favourite pizza sauce, torn up mozzarella, oregano and pepperoni. I also give the crust a light brush of olive oil to help it get nice and crispy in the oven. Pop your pizza back in the oven for around 15-20 minutes, just untill it is a beautiful golden colour, keep an eye on the cheese, that was my method of measurement.
Go wild with the toppings, one of the best things about pizza is how creative you can get with the toppings.
A fresh grind of black pepper over the pizza straight out the oven is always a good idea.
Garlic and chilli oil is something I would highly recommend you have on hand to drizzle over this lush pizza.
