Spoil your friends with a tower of these Korean wings
This Gochujang stuff has me hooked! lool. The flavours you will taste on these wings is just amazing, this recipe is dam simple and is pretty much split into two stages, creating the sauce and prepping the wings. If you have friends coming over, leave the crisps in the cupboard, treat them to these wings and just watch their reactions!
- 8 tbsp plain flour
- 8 chicken wings
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp Gochujang
- 2 tsp dark brown sugar
- 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 1 spring onion
- First of all let’s get the sauce ready. To do this add the apple cider vinegar, salt & sugar together in a mixing bowl and whisk together to dissolve the sugar, next add in the Gochujang and combine into a lovely sauce. Give it a TASTE! Maybe you want to add a touch more of one of the ingredients.
2. With the sauce at the ready, you need to get the wings ready. Add the salt, pepper and chilli powder to the flour and unite it all together. Toss the wings through the flour and either, roast them in the oven for around twenty five minutes at 180°/356°F/Gas Mark 4 or fry them until cooked through. Now, remove two tablespoons of the Gochunjang sauce and set aside, add the wings to the remaining sauce and get them coated all over, pop them back in the oven for just a few minutes to heat the sauce through.
3. Time to plate up! Assemble a tall tower of those mouth-watering wings, drizzle those two tablespoons of sauce all over, sprinkle over the sesame seeds and then follow up with a scattering of some thinly sliced spring onion.
To make a meal of this, you could have this with nice bowl of fluffy rice or fries.
For a veggie alternative, use the same sauce on some meat substitute nuggets/wings/dippers.
